The western-style equestrian competition in which a horse and rider work together before a judge or panel of judges to demonstrate the horse's athleticism and ability to handle cattle is called cutting. The Quarter Horse is usually the breed of horse used in cutting, but Paint Horses, Appaloosa's and even Arabians are also used.
The Cutter was beautifully drawn in ballpoint pen with over 40 hours of work during a cutting horse show that lasted over a week.
